Surface Coating products used by Hitech Industrial Coatings

Coating Products

We offer over 150 standard coatings, though new projects, tighter specifications, differing priorities and environmental issues mean we often have to respond with customised solutions.

The list of different products we are authorised and approved to use is huge, but we've included some of the more common coatings products we use below. To find out how we can help with specific surface coatings issues you are facing, please refer to our Coatings Services section

Victrex® PEEK™ - Vicote

We are a member of the Victrex network and a preferred coater for Vicote polyaryletherketones in powder and dispersion forms. Vicote is a high performance thermoplastic polymer.

Tough and durable, it offers the following characteristics: Excellent abrasion resistance; non-galling with low particulation; high load bearing surface; high temperature performance (up to 260°C); lubricity; chemical resistance; low specific gravity; halogen free and low toxicity.

It's applications are too numerous to mention, you can learn more about Victrex® PEEK™ and Vicote by downloading the brochure here.

Xylan 1424 Series PTFE

A fastener class coating, this is water borne, VOC compliant, resin based and thermally cured. lt is primarily formulated to facilitate make up and break out torque, on oil/gas structures in subsea and splash zone areas, whilst giving good corrosion resistance and dry film lubrication to reduce galling and seizing.

Also widely used on pump and valve bodies for corrosion protection. Cured coating thickness 25-40 micron.

Xylan 1052 1425 Series

Dryfilm lubrication with PTFE and molybdenum disulphide. The water borne and solvent based versions are designed to provide long term dry film lubrication and wear characteristics under extreme pressure, even in harsh chemical environments.

Used extensively in the oil and gas industries and in general industry to reduce friction and wear on sliding or mating surfaces. It has good corrosion resistance as well. Cured coating thickness 25-40 micron.

Emralon 333

Emralon 333 is one of a series of resin bonded lubricant coatings, designed to provide dry film lubrication and release properties in a variety of industrial and consumer applications.

MAKE-UP :- A blend of fluorocarbon lubricants in an organic binder and solvent system designed for applications beyond the scope of conventional coatings, its low co-efficient of friction, hardness, adhesion, resiliency and cure conditions allow application of Emralon 333 in a multitude of places where pure sintered PTFE coatings are unsuitable.

USED EXTENSIVELY :- For propellers, lock assemblies, printing equipment, aerospace parts, slides, chutes, studbolts/fasteners in chemical environments, wheels, springs, drawer guides, sawblades etc.

EXCELLENT CHEMICAL RESISTANCE :- Hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, sulphuric acid, methylene chloride, sodium chloride, xylene.

Halar and Tefzel

Copolymer and fluoropolymer coatings. Tough and hard wearing these coatings offer excellent protection from chemicals along with good release qualities and wear resistance in the harshest of environments. Film thicknesses from 400-1000 micron.

TYPICALLY USED FOR :- Pipespools and flanges; hoppers and chemical tanks; slurry pipe sections; gate valves and bodies, wearplates; food mixers; flow chutes & augers.

PRE-TREATMENTS AVAILABLE :- High pressure washdown; chemical degrease; abrasive blast facility, chemical etching, zinc & manganese phosphate.

PFA Powders

Offer high temperature resistance with excellent release, wear, and corrosion resistance. PFA is resistant to stress fractures, thermal aging and conforms to FDA regulations for food contact. Coating thicknesses to 60 micron.

TYPICAL AREAS OF USE :- Mould release, gate valves supply chutes, commercial bakeware, bag sealing equipment, virtually any equipment where product build-up, wear or release present problems.

PFA Ruby Red Hi Build

Has all the above PFA Powder properties but due to its higher build characteristics, has greater wear and corrosion capabilities with thickness to 400 micron.

TYPICAL AREAS OF USE :- Pumps and pipe spools, hoppers, chemical vessels, high temperature scrubber systems, sliding valves, pumping corrosive slurries, anywhere high temperature corrosion and wear are present.

Hi Build Air Dry Systems

A range of Hi Build air dry coating systems designed for use in industries such as oil & gas, mining, chemical, marine, manufacturing, transport, general industrial including mould release using epoxy / PTFE.

Systems used include 2,3 and 4 coat epoxy, polyamidelmide, enamel, ceramic, and urethane.

Everslik 1201 / 1301

An engineered coating system for corrosive environments including oil & gas, mining and general industrial use.

When applied as a two coat system this combination provides an extremely tough, hardwearing and corrosion resistant, low friction coating. It has excellent ongoing friction reduction qualities.

FEATURES :- Coefficient of friction 04-06; Salt spray test to 2500 hrs; Dry film long-lasting lubrication; reduces the risk of seizing/galling; dry film thickness approximately 33-51 micron.

Armourcote 5700

An excellent low cost alternative to galv & zinc. Armourcote 5700 produces a durable, bonded coating containing finely divided Molybdenum Disulphide in a tough, thermosetting resin binder. The system was developed to meet the demands for improved lubrication and corrosion protection in aggressive environments and provides a thin, hard, low friction coating which is capable of continuous operation at extreme temperatures.

Armourcote 5700 is particularly suited to the lubrication and corrosion protection of bearings, gears, threaded fasteners, telescopic booms, studbolts, any sliding metallic surface, pistons, conveyors, and drive chains.

FEATURES :- Outstanding corrosion protection, superior to most common plating techniques such as zinc and galvanizing; Completely dry lubricating film, resists pickup of dust, dirt and other harmful contaminants; excellent resistance to a broad spectrum of aggressive chemicals and solvents; Uniform friction of coefficient, allows accurate tensioning of threaded fasteners; Reduces wear, extends component life, eliminates pickup and fretting corrosion; Reduces risk of seizure.
